Which Colours Work Best For Me?
As a colour analyst, working with women to improve their personal image, a common question I hear, is “Which colours work best for me”?
Each colour has an energy and an emotional significance, to all living things, especially us humans.
Colours have an impressional effect on the way we feel and the way others feel about us, with each different colour we wear.
How Clothing Colours react to Skin Tone and Hair Colouring.
Our skin tone dictates which colours do, and which colours do not enhance us.
Your eye colour adds an extra layer of compatibility to the colours that work best for you. Your hair colour and eyebrow colour will also effect your correct colour selection even further.
When you understand the true effect that certain colours have on the human skin, you will realise that everyone cannot wear every colour successfully.
Ask yourself, do you really know which colours to avoid and which colours lift you completely?
The reality is that most people are not aware of which colours work for them, and which to avoid.
Understanding The Best Colour Category for You
When it comes to choosing the correct temperature colours for your skin tone, eye and hair colour, you will suit one of the following four categories:
1) You should wear only Cool colours.
2) You can wear 80% Cool colours and 20% Warm colours.
3) You should wear only Warm colours.
4) You can wear 80% Warm colours and 20% Cool colours.
Understanding Colour Tones & Shades
Once you know which one of the four colour categories is right for you, you should understand which of the following tones and shades best suit you:
- Bright colours.
- Luminous colours.
- Fully saturated colours.
- Muted colours.
- Soft colours.
- Rich colours.
- Light colours.
- Medium toned colours.
- Dark colours.
- Or a combination of some of the above!
When you understand the Temperature of the colours you should wear and the Shade and Tone of colours that make you look your best, you then need to understand which Colour Contrast Intensity really makes you shine. Be it Low, Medium or Strong Intensity!
Wow! that’s a lot to learn.
Once you know which colour temperatures, tones and colour contrasts are the correct ones for you, you will never buy the wrong coloured garment or combination again.
Colour analysis also includes your clothing accessories. Can you imagine how much easier it would be to shop for clothing and accessories? Not to mention the money you will save!
